The Wolfburn 8 Years Old Cognac Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an exclusive bottling from the young but already highly regarded Wolfburn Distillery, which is located on the north coast of Scotland. Since its revival in 2013, the distillery has focussed on traditional craftsmanship and innovative maturation concepts that give its whiskies a special depth and strength of character.
This limited edition has been matured for eight years in Cognac casks, giving the whisky a particularly rich and complex flavour. The influences of the former Cognac casks give it a subtle fruitiness and a fine sweetness, while the long maturation period perfectly integrates the flavours of oak, vanilla and dried fruit. The whisky is bottled at 46% vol., which gives it a pleasant intensity and brings out its multi-layered flavours to optimum effect.
