W. & J. Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020 20% Vol. 1l
£23.02
The W. & J. Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020 is an expressive port wine from the renowned Douro Valley in Portugal. The traditional house of W. & J. Graham’s, synonymous with top quality port wine since 1820, stands for elegance, depth and ageability. The LBV (Late Bottled Vintage) comes – as the name suggests – from a single vintage, in this case 2020, and is matured longer in the barrel than a classic Vintage Port. As a result, it is already mature, accessible and ready to drink when you buy it, without losing any of its character and intensity.
The grapes come from old vines from the best vineyards in the Douro Valley. After the classic fermentation process, interrupted by the addition of brandy, the port matures for several years in large oak barrels before being bottled. With an alcohol content of 20% vol. and a generous 1-litre bottle, Graham’s LBV 2020 is not only a wine for special moments of pleasure, but also ideal for social evenings.
Tasting NoteIn the glass, Graham’s Late Bottled Vintage Port 2020 presents itself in a deep, dark ruby red colour with violet reflections. Intense aromas of black cherries, blackberries and plums unfold on the nose, accompanied by notes of cocoa, liquorice and fine spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, with harmonious tannins, lively fruit and a long, elegant finish.
This LBV port wine is a perfect accompaniment to strong blue cheeses such as Stilton or Roquefort, chocolate desserts, dark cakes or even nuts and dried fruit. It is ideal as a digestif and unfolds its full flavour at a serving temperature of 16-18 °C. Thanks to its maturity, it can be enjoyed immediately, but also has potential for further storage.
