The limited edition was named after Sir William Murray, the second Marquess of Tullibardine, who fought for the Jacobites at the Battle of Sheriffmuir on the Ochil Hills above Tullibardine Distillery on 13 November 1715. Launched in 2016, the Marquess Collection honours famous and historical figures who held the title of Marquess of Tullibardine in Scotland for centuries and references the rich history of the Highland region of Tullibardine.
Tullibardine The Murray is matured for 13 years in first-fill bourbon casks before being finished in ex-French red wine casks. This single malt is not chill-filtered, which preserves its natural flavours and complex structure. This special maturation method gives the whisky a remarkable depth and rich flavour that delights connoisseurs and gourmets alike.
The combination of the long maturation period and the final maturation in red wine casks creates a unique balance that impressively reflects the heritage of the Tullibardine distillery.
