Description
The Tomatin Distillery, located on the eastern edge of the Monadhliath Mountains, offers perfect conditions for whisky production. The water used to make Tomatin whisky comes from the Alt-na-Frith Burn, which flows through the nearby hills and is renowned for its purity.
The Tomatin whisky distillery releases a 30-year-old single malt whisky that is finished after a long maturation period in ex-bourbon casks. This special maturation gives the whisky a distinctive flavour that is characterised by the bourbon casks.
The Tomatin 30 Years Old is bottled in an elegant bottle, which is presented in a fine oak box, further emphasising the exclusive character of the whisky. As the whisky is bottled without additional colouring and without chill-filtration, it retains its natural colour and its original variety of flavours.
This limited edition, which is restricted to just 3,000 bottles, offers whisky lovers a unique opportunity to enjoy an exceptional single malt that impresses with its long maturation period and careful processing.
Tasting NoteColour: Light amber with golden reflections.
Nose: Honey, vanilla, tropical fruit, butterscotch, toasted almonds and a hint of coconut.
Flavour: Soft, rich, with notes of sweet oak, dried apricots, crème brûlée, spicy nutmeg and a hint of citrus.
Finish: Langs, smooth and elegant, with lingering notes of honey, roasted nuts and a subtle spiciness.
The Tomatin 30 Years Old reveals its full potential when enjoyed neat, ideally in a nosing glass to bring out its flavours to the full. Its sweet and fruity notes harmonise perfectly with white chocolate, shortbread or fine caramel desserts. If you want to combine it with savoury dishes, you can enjoy it with mature cheese such as an old Comté or mildly smoked salmon. It also makes a stylish finish to a full-flavoured dinner.
