The Whistler P.X. I Love You is a single malt Irish whiskey full of character, which owes its elegant sweetness and depth to intensive maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Produced by the independent Boann Distillery in the County Meath region, north-west of Dublin, this bottling epitomises the modern renaissance of Irish whiskey – handcrafted, with attention to detail and a focus on cask quality.
This single malt is first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in selected PX sherry casks from Spain. This double cask maturation allows the whiskey to develop a multi-layered aroma spectrum with notes of dark dried fruit, sweet oak, spices and fine malt. With an alcohol content of 46% by volume, no chill filtration and no colouring, The Whistler P.X. I Love You retains all of its natural expressiveness.
The modern finish and sonorous name make this bottling a highlight not only in terms of flavour, but also visually – ideal for lovers of fruity, sherry-matured Irish whiskeys with a touch of romance.
Tasting NoteColour: Copper with a reddish sheen.
Nose: Sweet sultanas, dried plums, honey, vanilla, toffee and a hint of oak.
Flavour: Full-bodied with notes of dates, chocolate, cinnamon, sherry sweetness and light nuttiness.
Finish: Medium to long, soft and fruity-spicy with a malty aftertaste.
Ideal neat or with a few drops of water to fully develop the sherry flavours. Excellent with desserts with dark chocolate, caramelised nuts or Irish coffee variations.
