The Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak Cask is an outstanding single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside that is a prime example of the unmistakable Macallan style. With a maturation period of at least 12 years on The Macallan’s traditional estate, it develops its full flavour in a careful selection of European oak casks pre-seasoned with sherry. This special cask ageing process has a decisive influence on the whisky and gives it its characteristic notes of dried fruit, Ingwerer and fine spices.
The Macallan Sherry Oak 12 Years Old impresses with its natural colour, which is created exclusively by the cask maturation – without the addition of colouring agents. Bottled at 40% vol., it combines an intense sherry influence with an elegant balance that makes it one of Macallan’s most popular and appreciated whiskies. It is supplied in a high-quality gift box (GB), which emphasises its premium character.
Tasting NoteColour: Completely natural colour, rich amber.
Nose: Dried fruit, candied citrus peel and spicy oak with notes of Ingwerer and nutmeg.
Flavour: Rich with sultanas, sultanas and ginger syrup, rounded off with sweet cinnamon spices and a hint of vanilla.
Finish: Langs, warm and elegant with oak and warming Ingwerer.
