Description
The SHINOBU distillery, based in Niigata, a Japanese coastal region known for its “three white treasures” of snow, rice and sake, produces pure malt whiskies under the direction of master blender Usami Ken.
These whiskies are first matured in sherry and bourbon casks and then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak, which is prized for its rich flavours of apples, pears, cloves and nutmeg. Used since the 1930s, Mizunara oak is now sought after worldwide for its unique flavours.
SHINOBU Lightly Peated Pure Malt Whisky is characterised by a robust body with smoky notes and toasted oak flavours.
All Shinobu Whiskies are produced without chill-filtration or added colour to preserve their complex nature and depth.
