Description

The Glenlivet 15 Years Old FRENCH OAK RESERVE 40% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an outstanding single malt whisky with a fascinating history and tradition. The Glenlivet distillery was founded in 1824 and is considered to be the first licensed whisky distillery in Scotland. Today, it has developed into the largest malt distillery in the country and has secured a firm place in the history of Scotch whisky with an annual production of around 12 million litres of whisky.

The Glenlivet 15 Years Old French Oak Reserve is a particularly elegant whisky that is matured for at least 15 years in Limousin oak casks from the Dordogne region of France. These casks, which are also used for maturing cognacs, are characterised by their low wood density, which allows the whisky to penetrate deep into the wood. The result is an unmistakable depth and complexity with a unique, pleasant spiciness that gives this whisky its special character.

Tasting NoteColour: Dark gold with a hint of amber.

Nose: Delicate notes of ripe peaches, apples, vanilla, spices and a hint of oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied, creamy, with aromas of ripe fruit, honey, spices, mild wood notes and a slight hint of vanilla.

Finish: Langs, smooth and warming, with a subtle oak spice and a sweet, fruity note.

The Glenlivet 15 Years Old FRENCH OAK RESERVE is ideal for pure enjoyment to fully savour the complexity and aromas. It goes well with dark chocolate, creamy Brie or Camembert as well as nuts and dried fruit. This whisky is also an excellent choice with a savoury beef steak or a fine cheese fondue.
