Teaninich 17 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Limited Release 2017 is an exclusive whisky that reflects the rich history and heritage of Teaninich Distillery. The home of Captain Hugh Munro and his family was Teaninich Castle, and in 1817 they established the first legal distillery in Ross-shire. Although the original building and part of the Munro Castle have sadly disappeared, the family’s whisky heritage has been preserved over the centuries and is celebrated with this limited release bottling.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Teaninich Distillery, they are launching this special single malt whisky, which has matured for 17 years in refill American white oak hogsheads. The long maturation ensures a complex and deep flavour that perfectly combines both woody and fruity notes. The whisky was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2017, and comes with an alcohol content of 55.9% by volume, making it a strong yet harmonious whisky.
This Teaninich 17 Years Old is presented in a classy gift box, making it a perfect gift for whisky lovers or collectors. The limited edition and special maturation make this whisky a real highlight of any collection and a masterpiece from the Teaninich Distillery.
Tasting NoteColour: Dark gold with amber reflections.
Nose: Fruity aromas of plums, dried fruit and a light caramel note, which combine with fine oak and vanilla notes.
Flavour: Full-bodied and powerful with ripe fruit, caramel and a spiciness of oak and spices, which are perfectly accentuated by the long maturation.
Finish: Langs and warming, with an elegant oak and fruit finish that fades gently.
The Teaninich 17 Years Old Single Malt is ideal for drinking neat, especially at room temperature to fully develop the complex flavours. It can also be used as a base for a fine whisky sour, old fashioned or Rob Roy. This single malt goes perfectly with matured cheese, dark chocolate or smoked meat, which perfectly complements its fruity and woody notes.
