Description
The Teaninich 10 Years Old is an impressive single malt Scotch whisky from the Scottish Highlands, characterised by its exceptional clarity, fresh aroma and spicy depth. With an alcohol content of 43% vol., it impresses with a balance of fruity, grassy and spicy notes that give it a lively yet harmonious profile.
The Teaninich Distillery, founded in 1817, is one of the oldest but lesser-known distilleries in Scotland. Nevertheless, it has made a name for itself in connoisseur circles, particularly thanks to its innovative distillation method. Unlike many other Scottish distilleries, Teaninich does not use a conventional mash filter, but the so-called “Lauter Tun” process, in which the solid grain components are completely filtered out. The result is an exceptionally pure, oily and almost grassy whisky that clearly stands out from other Highland malts.
Tasting NoteColour: Light gold with bright reflections.
Nose: Fresh, fruity, citrus zest, green apple, floral notes, a hint of grass and honey.
Flavour: Slightly oily, crisp freshness, sweet maltiness, spicy Ingwerer, vanilla, subtle pepper, subtle oak spice.
Finish: Medium length, dry, spicy with lingering notes of lemon peel, cereals and a fine bitterness.
The Teaninich 10 Years Old is a great whisky for beginners and connoisseurs looking for a fresh, aromatic Highland malt. It is best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to emphasise the subtle citrus and spice notes. It is an excellent culinary accompaniment to mild cheese, smoked fish, light desserts with citrus fruits or almonds. An elegant, versatile whisky with an exceptional profile – ideal for lovers of fine, subtle flavours
