Taylor’s Port 10 Years Old Tawny Port 20% Vol. 0,75l in gift box
£28.00
Taylor’s 10 Years Old Tawny Port, 20% ABV, in a 0.75 l bottle with a gift box, is one of the world’s best-known aged Tawny Ports and embodies the centuries-old port-making tradition of the renowned Taylor’s house. Although Taylor’s is primarily famous for its legendary Vintage Ports, the house also enjoys an excellent reputation for its high-quality Aged Tawny Ports, which develop exceptional elegance and complexity through long cask ageing.
Selected Port wines from the house’s extensive reserves are used to produce this 10-year-old Tawny Port. The wines mature for many years in traditional, previously used oak casks with a capacity of around 630 litres. During this long ageing period, the wine develops its characteristic amber hue and the typical aromas of mature Tawny Ports. The slow oxidation in the wood lends it additional depth, finesse and a remarkably smooth texture. The casks are stored in Taylor’s famous lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia on the Portuguese Atlantic coast, where conditions are ideal for harmonious maturation. The result is a premium Tawny Port that is ready to drink immediately, impressing with its balance of fruit, maturity and elegance, and ranking among the best-selling 10-year-old Tawny Ports in the UK.
Tasting NoteIn the glass, Taylor’s 10 Years Old Tawny Port presents a deep brick-red colour with an amber rim. On the nose, ripe berry fruits combine with subtle nutty notes and elegant hints of chocolate, butterscotch and fine oak. On the palate, the port is soft, silky and harmonious, with flavours of figs, jam and dried fruit. The perfectly integrated maturity ensures a supple structure and great elegance. The finish is long-lasting, complex and well-balanced.
Taylor’s 10 Years Old Tawny Port pairs superbly with almond desserts, nutty biscuits, dark chocolate and berry desserts. This matured Portuguese port also accompanies blue cheese, Stilton or other tangy cheese specialities to perfection. It also reveals its full class when served with roasted almonds or walnuts, or as a stylish finale to a special meal. The recommended serving temperature is 12–16 °C.
