Description

The Yamazaki Distillers Reserve is produced by the leading Japanese whisky manufacturer Suntory. The Yamazaki distillery, founded in 1923, is located at the foot of Mount Tennozan, near Kyoto. It was the first malt whisky distillery in Japan and is now the largest in the country. Its location benefits from one of the purest water sources in the region, which is considered essential for the quality of the whisky produced.

The Yamazaki Distiller’s Reserve is a whisky made from a base of both peated and unpeated malt. The maturation of this whisky takes place in three different types of casks: Ex-Bordeaux wine casks made from French oak, ex-sherry casks made from Japanese Mizunara oak and casks made from American white oak.

This combination of casks helps to give the whisky a multi-layered flavour profile, ranging from fruity notes to spicy and sweet nuances.
