The Starward Distillery is located in Melbourne. Melbourne is Australia’s gourmet capital and also offers delicacies for whisky lovers.
The varied weather elicits both characteristic aromas and delicious flavours from the distillate.
Every single ingredient comes from the local area and is sourced no more than an hour’s drive away.
Solera is a traditional method used by the Spaniards to age their sherry and keep it consistent. A fraction of each young cask is blended with more mature spirit. It is the inspiration for the Solera single malt. And it means that there is still a hint of one of Starward’s first casks in every bottle produced today. Apera casks from the McWilliams winery are used for maturation; Apera is an Australian fortified wine, similar to sherry.
