The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition IMMINA single malt whisky is a special bottling limited to just 975 bottles that impressively demonstrates the skill and creativity of the renowned St. Kilian Distillery. The distillery based in Rüdenau produces premium whiskies of the highest quality for an international audience and relies on an impressive selection of over 170 different cask types, which allow for an extraordinary variety of flavours.
The Kiliani Edition is an exclusive series that is released every year on the name day of Saint Kilian on 8 July. The 2024 edition honours the blessed Immina, abbess of Würzburg and Karlburg, and is a tribute to the distillery’s Franconian homeland. The whisky matured for over five years in former bourbon barrels, which were previously filled with the traditional “Brauerreserve 1237” from the Faust family brewery in Miltenberg. This special combination of beer and bourbon barrel maturation gives the whisky a multi-layered, deep flavour with fruity, malty and woody notes.
At 46% vol. and natural, i.e. without chill-filtration or colouring, the whisky comes in an elegant gift box and is aimed at connoisseurs who are looking for something out of the ordinary – whether for pure enjoyment or as a special collector’s item of German whisky art.
Tasting NoteColour: Golden yellow with warm amber reflections.
Nose: Fruity and delicately malty, with notes of red berries, vanilla, toffee, delicate oak spice and a hint of hops.
Flavour: Full-bodied, smooth and complex – with aromas of cereals, dried fruit, caramel, fine malt and spicy wood.
Finish: Langs, warm and harmonious, with sweetish spice, gentle roasted flavours and balanced depth.
The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition IMMINA is best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a nosing glass. This single malt is an excellent culinary accompaniment to smoked cheese, game terrines, fine chocolate desserts or a strong sourdough bread with dark beer cheese.
