Description
The Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition Clynelish 12 Years Old Germany Exclusive Batch #1 is a full-bodied Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 57.1% in a 0.7-litre bottle. Distilled in 2013, this Clynelish whisky was matured for twelve years in a combination of refill Oloroso sherry hogsheads and new wood hogsheads. Whilst the refill Oloroso sherry casks contribute fruity, nutty and spicy notes, the fresh oak brings out stronger vanilla, toasted and woody notes in the blend. As Germany Exclusive Batch #1, this bottling was specially crafted for the German market.
The independent bottler Signatory Vintage is renowned for authentic single malts with transparent details of the distillery, age, vintage and cask type. Bottled at 100 British Proof, equivalent to 57.1 per cent, this expression preserves the intense cask and distillery aromas. Particularly striking is the typical waxy character of Clynelish, which blends with the sweetness of sherry, spicy new oak and fresh citrus fruit. This exclusive bottling is therefore aimed at connoisseurs of full-bodied, complex and cask-influenced Highland whiskies.
Tasting NoteColour: Deep gold with amber highlights.
Nose: Yellow apples, pears, lemon zest, beeswax, vanilla, dried fruit, toasted nuts and spicy oak.
Palate: Powerful and oily with honey, ripe fruit, raisins, vanilla, citrus, waxy notes, toasted wood and a robust spicy warmth.

The Signatory Vintage Clynelish 12 Years Old Germany Exclusive Batch #1 should first be tasted neat at room temperature and then opened up with a few drops of still water. As a dessert accompaniment, it pairs well with apple tart, crème brûlée, orange cake, raisin biscuits or white chocolate with roasted nuts.
