Segura Viudas CAVA Rosé 12% Vol. 0,75l
£11.45
Segura Viudas CAVA Rosé Brut 12 % is an elegant Cava Rosado from Spain that combines intense fruit, fine bubbles and balanced freshness. In the 0.75-litre bottle, Segura Viudas blends the three red grape varieties Trepat, Garnacha and Pinot Noir. Trepat brings freshness, fruit and finesse; Garnacha adds further depth of flavour; and Pinot Noir contributes spice and aromatic intensity. Seven base wines, vinified separately, are blended to create the cuvée. Colour and aromas are extracted from the grape skins through a traditional maceration process: Trepat is macerated for 24 hours at 12–14 °C, Garnacha for 12 hours at 16–18 °C, whilst Pinot Noir comes into contact with the skins whilst being transported to the winery.
Both the first and second fermentations of Segura Viudas Cava Brut Rosé are carried out using specially selected yeasts, which give the sparkling wine its characteristic style. The careful balance between fruit and maturation results in an approachable yet finely structured Spanish rosé cava. With its lively style, this Cava Brut Rosado is equally suited as an aperitif, a versatile accompaniment to food, and a sparkling wine for celebrations.
Tasting NoteIn the glass, the Segura Viudas CAVA Rosé Brut presents itself in a bright, pale strawberry pink with salmon-coloured hues and a fine, rich and persistent effervescence. On the nose, it reveals youthful aromas of strawberries, redcurrants and grenadine. On the palate, the Cava is refreshing and approachable, with juicy cherry fruit and a pleasantly light acidity. The finish is smooth, harmonious and well-balanced.
Acidity: 3.6 g/l
Segura Viudas CAVA Rosé Brut pairs superbly with a mini Quiche Lorraine with asparagus and bacon, pan-fried seitan with shiitake and ginger, or salmon with mushrooms and prawns. Skewers of fresh fruit and goat’s cheese also pair beautifully with its fruity freshness. As a Rosé Cava Brut, it is also ideal as an aperitif, for receptions, brunch or festive occasions.
