The heavy metal band Saxon was founded in 1979 in Barnsley, UK. With Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or Diamond Head they are among the co-founders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and were already able to tour England with their first record in Motörhead’s prelude. Even now fans don’t have to starve to death, because the last albums “Battering Ram” and “Thunderbolt” provide enough metal cost.
