Samurai Junmaidaiginjo Sake 16% Vol. 0,72l
£30.09
Samurai Junmaidaiginjo sake is an excellent, handcrafted sake from Japan that reflects the high art of sake production. Junmai Daiginjo is a premium quality sake made from specially polished rice grains. A large part of the outer layer of the rice grain is removed to expose the starchy core, resulting in a particularly pure and delicate flavour. The term “Junmai” means that this sake is made exclusively from rice, water, yeast and koji – a special mould that converts rice starch into fermentable sugar – without any additives. The addition “Daiginjo” refers to the high degree of polishing of the rice, in which at least 50% of the outer layer is removed to produce a particularly pure and complex sake.
Samurai Junmaidaiginjo sake is bottled with an alcohol content of 16% vol. and offers a refined taste experience that is emphasised by the careful production process and the high-quality rice. This sake speciality is ideal for pure enjoyment or as an accompaniment to sophisticated Japanese dishes.
Tasting NoteThe Samurai Junmaidaiginjo Sake presents itself in the glass in a clear, shiny white colour with a delicate shimmer. Floral aromas unfold on the nose, accompanied by fresh notes of pear, peach and a hint of honey. On the palate, the sake is soft and elegant, with a beautiful balance of gentle sweetness and subtle acidity that harmonise perfectly with each other. The finish is long and harmonious, with a subtle umami aftertaste that rounds off the flavours.
Drinking temperature: 8-12 °C
Samurai Junmaidaiginjo Sake is an excellent accompaniment to sophisticated Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi and grilled fish. This sake is also an excellent accompaniment to tempura or teriyaki chicken. It also goes perfectly with mild cheeses or fruity desserts such as sorbet and light fruit tarts.
