Description
The Sailor’s Home distillery is a tribute to the restless, the explorers and the adventurers. In 1856, Sailor’s Home was built near the Shannon Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Island Series from Sailor’s Home reflects the pursuit of whisky experiences. Exceptional whiskies with unique flavours from rum casks from the Caribbean islands are used for the production.
THE HORIZON bottling is made from a blend of 10-year-old Irish grain and Irish single malt whiskies. These are each matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon oak casks, after which they are finished in selected Barbados rum casks, resulting in rich and refined flavours. These are typical of Caribbean rums.
Tasting NoteColour: Ochre.
Nose: Fruity, tropical, notes of brown sugar.
Taste: Full-bodied, sweet, fruity, honey, vanilla, notes of caramelised bananas and oak.
Finish: Langs, butterscotch, orange peel.
