Opeth are very close to their homeland. The musical geniuses around singer and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt, who have been actively making music since 1990, got together with the Swedish brewery Heavy MetAle – a suitable name. Together they created three excellent beers that pay tribute to three of the band’s beautiful albums. The band has released a total of 12 albums – maybe three more Beer Sets will come out.
Heritage Pilsner
The Opeth Heritage Pilsner stands for the 2011 album “Heritage”. The beer is characterised by bittersweet, flashing hops notes.
Garden of the Titans Red Ale
The Garden of the Titans Red Ale is the delicious accompaniment to the album “Garden of the Titans”, released in November 2018. Here Opeth rely on American hops, which provide for flowery as well as slightly bitter notes.
Sorceress Session IPA
The Sorceress Session IPA is quite bitter and strong. The Opeth Beer, which is also very hoppy, still has a hint of sweetness. The label of the bottle is adorned by the cover of the album “Sorceress” released in 2016.
