Description

The Old English Gin pays homage to the origins of London Dry Gin and is produced according to a traditional recipe dating back to 1783. Produced by the renowned Hammer & Son Distillery, this gin is based on historical production methods and high-quality ingredients. It is distilled in a pot still using 11 carefully selected botanicals, including classic components such as juniper, coriander, angelica root, citrus peel and cinnamon.

A special feature of this gin is that it is bottled in antique-looking champagne bottles, as was customary in the 18th century. The Old English Gin thus combines classic craftsmanship with a touch of nostalgia and authenticity. With an alcohol content of 44% vol., it offers an intense, complex flavour experience that is suitable for pure enjoyment as well as for classic gin cocktails.

Tasting NoteColour: Crystal clear.

Nose: Fresh juniper with citrus nuances, accompanied by spicy and floral notes.

Taste: Full-bodied and balanced with juniper dominance, fine sweetness, warm spicy notes and a hint of cinnamon and liquorice.

Finish: Langs and dry with a pleasant juniper flavour and a subtle pepper note.

Old English Gin is ideal for classic gin drinks. A gin & tonic, combined with a dry tonic water and a lemon zest, emphasises its citrus and juniper notes perfectly. It also unfolds its complex flavour perfectly in a Martini or Negroni.

In culinary terms, this gin harmonises wonderfully with oysters, smoked salmon or strong hard cheese. Its spicy notes also make it an interesting companion for savoury dishes with herbs or oriental spices. A gin for lovers of the classic art of distillation and authentic flavours.
