Description

The Old Ballantruan 10 Years Old The Peated Malt is a powerful, peaty-smoky single malt whisky from Scotland’s Speyside, which clearly stands out from the typical, rather mild whiskies of this region. Produced at the Tomintoul Distillery, which is known for its smooth, elegant malts, Old Ballantruan is the smoky exception – named after a water spring in Ballantruan Glen, from which the distillery water comes.

Heavily peated malts are used for this 10-year-old bottling, which gives the whisky its distinctive smoke. At the same time, the long maturation in American oak casks provides depth, structure and a harmonious balance between smoke, sweetness and wood. The whisky is bottled at a strong 50% vol. and is naturally non-chill-filtered and colourless – an authentic malt with character for fans of smoky whiskies.

The Old Ballantruan Whisky 10 Years is a classic sipping whisky that should be enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a few drops of water to fully develop the complex smoke and cask notes. Ideal for lovers of peaty Speyside bottlings or as an exciting alternative to Islay whiskies. It also impresses with depth and contrast as an accompaniment to strong cheese, smoked meat or dark chocolate. A single malt with a strong character for connoisseurs – smoky, intense and uncompromising in its flavour.
