Since its foundation in 1793, the picturesque location and proximity to the harbour in the west of the Scottish Highlands have made the Oban Distillery a magnet for new settlers. Oban, which means “little bay” in Gaelic, has developed into one of the most respected and efficient distilleries despite initial challenges. With just two stills, Oban produces up to 700,000 litres of alcohol annually, making it one of the smallest distilleries in the world, a testament to its excellence and tradition in whisky making.
‘The Distillers Edition of the Classic Malts Selection’ contains single malt whiskies from seven different distilleries in Scotland. All bottlings receive additional maturation in different casks selected by the master distiller of the respective distillery.
The Distillers Edition from the Oban distillery receives a second maturation in milled former Montilla Fino casks made from American white oak.
