Description
Since its foundation in 1793, the picturesque location and proximity to the harbour in the west of the Scottish Highlands have made the Oban Distillery a magnet for new settlers. Oban, which means “little bay” in Gaelic, has developed into one of the most respected and efficient distilleries despite initial challenges. With just two stills, Oban produces up to 700,000 litres of alcohol annually, making it one of the smallest distilleries in the world, a testament to its excellence and tradition in whisky production.
The Oban 10 Years Old Special Release is part of Diageo’s 2022 Special Release range. All whiskies in this range are bottled at cask strength.
The whisky matures for 10 years in American oak casks before being finished in ex-sherry and amontillado-seasoned casks.
A glowing Aurora Borealis adorns the label of the bottle and is accompanied by a rabbit covered in stars. The image was inspired by the aurora borealis, which is said to have appeared over the distillery one night.
