Mateus The Original ROSÉ 11% Vol. 0,75l

£6.82

Mateus The Original Rosé is an internationally renowned rosé wine from Portugal, recognised for its unmistakable style and timeless freshness. Since its launch in the 1940s, it has become a worldwide symbol of Portuguese rosé. This wine is made from a finely balanced cuvée of grape varieties typical of the region: Baga, Rufete, Tinta Barroca and Touriga Franca. Each of these grapes contributes its own aromatic nuances and together ensure a harmonious and refreshing flavour experience.

Vinification is carried out according to the classic method for white wines. Fermentation takes place slowly and without skin contact in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 16 °C, which helps to preserve the freshness and lively fruit flavours. After cold stabilisation, the wine is gently filtered and then bottled. The entire process is carried out with great precision in order to preserve the characteristic style, delicate colour and balanced freshness of Mateus in every bottle. With an alcohol content of 11% vol., this rosé is pleasantly light and versatile.

Tasting NoteIn the glass, the Mateus Rosé shines in a bright, lively rosé colour with crystal-clear brilliance. The nose reveals fruity aromas of strawberry, redcurrant and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the wine is refreshing and balanced, with fine acidity, a light body and a subtle fruity sweetness. The finish is lively, soft and very accessible.

Drinking temperature: 6-8 °C

This rosé wine is ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a variety of dishes. It is ideal with fresh salads, sushi, grilled fish or light pasta dishes. It also unfolds its variety of flavours particularly well with Mediterranean starters, tapas or Asian cuisine.
