Lustau ME Moscatel EMILÍN Jerez-Xérès-Sherry 17% Vol. 0,75l
£33.43
The Lustau ME Moscatel EMILÍN Jerez-Xérès sherry is an expressive Moscatel sherry from the traditional Jerez de la Frontera and is one of Lustau Emilio Lustau’s sweet sherries with the most character. This bottling is made from 100% Moscatel grapes sourced exclusively from the renowned Las Cruces vineyard in Chipiona, a coastal location known for its particularly aromatic and concentrated Moscatel grapes. The proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and the intense hours of sunshine characterise the unmistakable style of this wine. The sherry matures oxidatively for over eight years in Lustau’s traditional bodegas, developing a remarkable depth and a harmonious interplay of sweetness and freshness.
With an alcohol content of 17%, this Jerez-Xérès sherry is soft, complex and elegant without being heavy. The ME Moscatel EMILÍN exemplifies the fine art of sherry production in Andalusia and impressively demonstrates how expressive a single-varietal Moscatel sherry from Spain can be. The long maturation period gives it complexity, structure and a long-lasting finish that will win over both connoisseurs and lovers of sweet wine styles. This sherry combines origin, varietal typicity and traditional ageing to create an authentic overall experience.
Tasting NoteDeep mahogany colour in the glass. Floral aromas of flowers and citrus fruits on the nose. Sweet, complex and soft on the palate with an intense flavour of dried fruit and fine spices. The finish is long-lasting and characterised by a harmonious interplay of acidity and sweetness.
Acidity: 5.5 g/l
Residual sugar: More than 200 g/l
Lustau ME Moscatel EMILÍN is an excellent accompaniment to desserts based on dried fruit, nuts or caramel, such as date cake, nut strudel or crème brûlée. It is also very harmonious with blue cheese or matured hard cheese, where sweetness and flavour form an exciting interplay. This sweet Moscatel sherry is also an excellent accompaniment to dark chocolate or to round off a meal. Served at a recommended temperature of 10 to 12 °C, it develops its aromatic depth in a particularly balanced way and is also ideal as a meditation wine for quiet moments of enjoyment.
