Laphroaig Quarter Cask Whisky 0,7L (48% Vol.)
£45.90
Laphroaig Quarter Cask – the most important facts at a glance
Category: Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Origin: Scotland
Base: malted barley
Special feature: Maturation in quarter casks
Taste: smoky, intense
Alcohol content: 48 % vol.
Character & classification
Compact, dense and immediately present. Smoke is present right from the start, carried by noticeable power. The alcohol is integrated but not hidden.
Classification is based on intensity and structure. Sweetness is secondary, with smoke, oak and maritime notes dominating instead. The whisky is concentrated and does not compensate for this with mildness.
Taste & aromas
Nose: Peat smoke, oak, medicinal notes.
Palate: Strong with smoke, spice and dry wood structure.
Finish: Long, intense, smoky.
Serving recommendation
A few drops of water open up the aroma spectrum considerably. At a higher temperature, the smoke becomes more dominant; chilled, the whisky appears firmer. A nosing glass helps to control the density.
