Description

Knockando 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an outstanding example of the classic Speyside whisky produced at the eponymous Knockando distillery in the village of Knockando, in the Moray region of Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1898 by John Thompson and is now part of Diageo, one of the world’s leading alcoholic beverage companies.

A unique feature of Knockando Whisky is that each bottle contains only the product of a single vintage. This practice sets Knockando apart from most other single malts, as the distillery deliberately avoids blending to preserve the purity and character of each vintage.

Knockando 12 Years Old is matured for at least 12 years in bourbon casks, which gives it a harmonious balance of sweetness, fruitiness and oak spice. With an alcohol content of 43% vol., this single malt offers a fine complexity that whisky lovers will appreciate both neat and in cocktails.

Tasting NoteColour: Light gold.

Nose: Aromas of ripe fruit, vanilla, honey and a subtle hint of oak that gently blend together.

Flavour: Soft and balanced with notes of caramel, citrus, oak and a subtle sweetness emphasised by the long maturation in bourbon barrels.

Finish: Long-lasting, soft and pleasant, with a light oak spiciness and fruity nuances that round off the flavour experience.

The Knockando 12 Years Old is ideal for drinking straight or with a few drops of water to develop the flavours. It is ideal with mature cheese, smoked meat or dark chocolate. This whisky is also an excellent choice as a base for fine cocktails such as a Whiskey Sour or an Old Fashioned to bring out its fruity and oak-spicy notes.
