Description
The distillery was founded in 1879 by Charles Mortimer Dedman. Due to Prohibition, which prohibited the production, sale and transport of alcohol, Kentucky Owl was closed. The whiskey was confiscated by the government and taken to a warehouse for storage – but the warehouse mysteriously burned down with all the good whiskey. Dixon Deman, Charles’ great-grandson, took the fate of his family into his own hands and made it his goal to revive his family history.
The Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch No. 12 has 57.9 vol.% and is therefore the highest-proof bottling of Kentucky Owl Bourbon.
