Hyde No.7 PRESIDENT’S CASK 1893 Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a premium, triple-distilled single malt Irish whiskey that combines the traditional Irish art of distillation with exceptional cask maturation. At 46% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this whisky is produced exclusively from 100% malted barley. The number 1893 commemorates a significant period in the history of the Hyde family and highlights the brand’s close connection to the first President of independent Ireland, Douglas Hyde. Triple distillation ensures the characteristically smooth and elegant flavour, whilst careful cask selection lends the whisky its exceptional depth.
Hyde No.7 President’s Cask is matured for six years in 250-litre vintage Oloroso hogshead sherry casks from Cádiz, Spain. This high-quality cask maturation imparts intense fruity and spicy notes to the whisky, as well as a harmonious blend of sweet vanilla, sherry aromas and subtle oak spice. On the nose, there are notes of peach, cream, vanilla pod, honeyed malt and fresh citrus, complemented by caramel, chocolate and subtle spices. On the palate, Manuka honey, dried apricots and plums unfold, accompanied by baking spices and elegant oak tannins. The long, opulent finish, with warm sherry spices, toasted nuts and lingering oak spice, makes this Irish single malt whisky a truly expressive example of its style.
