Description

The Edradour Distillery, whose history is as diverse as its range, was once even owned by the New York mafia. Today it is run by Andrew Symington, the founder of Signatory Vintage. As an independent Highland distillery, it relies on traditional production methods and utilises 19th century equipment to produce handcrafted premium single malts. Its diverse portfolio includes whiskies with exceptional cask finishes and bottlings made from malt with a minimum smoke content of 50 ppm.

The new batch of Ballechin 18 Years Old has been enriched by combining bourbon and sherry casks, bringing additional complexity to the maturation process. The long maturation allows for a successful fusion of intense peat smoke and spicy wood notes, which characterises the Highland single malt. These casks give the whisky a balanced structure that harmonises the smoky, woody and fruity elements without overemphasising individual nuances.
