Edradour 10 YO is a traditional treat that you can buy from us comfortably
Edradour 10 YO is a single malt whisky every connoisseur dreams of. From the first step to the last, heaps of passion and tradition are involved here. This is one of the last single malts that are manufactured at a traditional farm distillery. It goes without saying that it is handmade every step of the way, since it is being made at Scotland’s smallest distillery. Edradour 10 YO is produced in a process that has not changed during the last 150 years. It spends quite some time in casks that had been previously used for the bourbon production and the storage of Oloroso sherry. The yield is rather small, which would make this drink something like a rarity that you cannot buy at just any place.
Unaltered aromas that have to develop first
In the case of good whiskies, there is one rule of thumb: let it breathe. This also holds true for Edradour 10 YO. Let it catch some air for two weeks before you taste it. Many prefer to drink their Scotch single malt whisky with some water, but we do not recommend doing so here. Its golden amber colour is completely natural, and there are no alterations with regards to additive substances.
Edradour 10 YO’s complex taste is completely unaltered. It already starts in the nose: hints of soft toffee, crisp apples, light cherry, and some smoke rise up. The palate is treated to further notes of toffee accompanied by a little caramel, raisins and fruits. The finish of Edradour 10 YO is a harmonious force of dried fruits, some spice and smoke, that stick to your taste memories with an oily consistency. Jim Murray, the famous whisky expert, called Edradour 10 YO “massively impressive”, and we can only agree!
