The Douglas Laing ROCK ISLAND 10 Years Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 46% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an island blended malt Scotch whisky full of character from the independent bottler Douglas Laing, which combines the powerful flavours of Scottish island whiskies in a harmonious composition. Only single malts from various Scottish island distilleries are blended together for this blended malt whisky, creating a distinctive profile of maritime freshness, delicate smokiness and fruity sweetness. The bottling matures for at least 10 years in oak barrels before being bottled at 46% vol. to fully develop its intense character.
The island malts used come from renowned whisky regions of the Scottish islands and reflect the typical maritime character of the coastal regions. They are matured predominantly in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, which allows classic flavours of vanilla, caramel and gentle wood spice to develop. At the same time, the island whiskies add their typical salty, slightly smoky and spicy nuances. The result is a complex island blended malt Scotch whisky that reflects the flavour of Scotland’s wild coastal landscape and offers a perfect balance of sweetness, citrus freshness, smoke and sea salt.
