Description
The Douglas Laing Premier Barrel Fettercairn 8 Years Old Single Malt 2012 is an exclusive, hand-picked bottling from the Premier Barrel series of the renowned independent bottler Douglas Laing. This series is known for its artistically designed ceramic bottles and the selection of exceptional single malts.
This whisky comes from the traditional Fettercairn Distillery in the Scottish Highlands and was distilled in 2012. After maturing for 8 years in carefully selected oak casks, it was bottled at 46% vol. without chill-filtration or the addition of colouring agents – for an authentic and unadulterated taste experience.
The limited edition in the unique Premier Barrel ceramic bottle makes this bottling a real highlight for collectors and connoisseurs, not only in terms of flavour but also visually.
Tasting NoteColour: Light gold with amber reflections.
Nose: Fresh citrus notes, green apple, malt and a hint of vanilla and honey.
Flavour: Full-bodied and creamy with notes of toffee, caramel, sweet cereals, ripe pears and a fine oak spice.
Finish: Long-lasting, slightly spicy and warm with hints of vanilla and roasted almonds.
The Douglas Laing Premier Barrel Fettercairn 8 Years Old is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to emphasise its subtle nuances. It harmonises particularly well with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or mild cheese. It also offers an exceptional enjoyment experience as an accompaniment to a creamy dessert with caramel or a mild cigar.
