Description
The Clynelish 18 Years Old Waxen Sun is an exclusive bottling of the Special Releases 2025, which are presented under the motto Horizons Unbound. With a maturation period of 18 years, it is the oldest single malt in this year’s series and impressively embodies the elegance and unmistakable character of the Highland distillery Clynelish.
For this exceptional edition, the distillery experimented with different cut points – the crucial temperature ranges at which the master distiller separates the foreshot, mid-shot and after-shot. This precise craftsmanship requires experience, patience and in-depth knowledge in order to mould the optimum character of the whisky. The result is a single malt with an incomparably sunny profile, characterised by tropical notes that emerge from the so-called Pineapple Cut experiment. It was matured throughout in carefully selected refill casks, which perfectly showcase the fruity, waxy style of Clynelish. It was bottled at cask strength with 51.6% vol. which gives it additional intensity and depth. It is delivered in a stylish gift box (GB), which emphasises its limited collector’s value.
Tasting NoteColour: Bright gold.
Nose: Tropical fruit, ripe pineapple and floral notes, accompanied by a waxy undertone.
