Description

The Bladnoch Vinaya is a tribute to the long tradition of the Bladnoch Distillery, which has been producing single malt whiskies in the Scottish Langs since 1817. The name “Vinaya”, derived from Sanskrit, means “respect and gratitude” and refers to the distillery’s heritage and revitalisation.

Carefully selected first-fill bourbon and first-fill sherry casks are combined for this bottling, creating a perfect balance between sweet, fruity and spicy notes. The whisky retains the classic Lowland style with a smooth but complex structure.

With an alcohol content of 46.7 % vol., this single malt is strong yet pleasantly accessible. The elegant gift box (GB) emphasises its special character.

Tasting NoteColour: Light gold.

Nose: Fresh green apples, vanilla, floral notes and a fine spiciness.

Flavour: Soft and balanced with notes of honey, ripe pears, sweet malt and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Medium length, slightly dry with vanilla sweetness, oak and gentle spicy notes.

The Bladnoch Vinaya unfolds its full flavour neat or with a few drops of water to emphasise the fruity and spicy nuances. It goes perfectly with mild cheese, almonds or white chocolate. It also shows its complexity and elegance as an accompaniment to fruity desserts such as apple strudel or lemon tart.
