The distillery is one of the oldest active whisky distilleries in Scotland and is known for its elegant and fruity Highland single malt whiskies, which develop their special complexity through careful cask maturation.
This 21-year-old single malt whisky initially matures for many years in American oak casks before receiving its final refinement in Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. The Oloroso cask finish gives the whisky an additional aromatic depth with intense notes of dried fruit, spices and fine oak flavour. The long maturation process gives the Balblair 21 Years Old a particularly harmonious balance of fruit, sweetness and spicy sherry flavours.
