Description

Auchentoshan Blood Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a distinctive Travel Retail Exclusive bottling from the Scottish Lowlands and is aimed at connoisseurs looking for a single malt Scotch whisky with a distinctive profile. Produced by the Auchentoshan Distillery, this Lowland single malt epitomises Auchentoshan’s signature triple distillation, giving the whisky clarity, elegance and approachability. As part of the Travel Retail range, this bottling is specifically designed for the travel retail sector and deliberately sets itself apart from the classic core range. Bottled at 46% in a 0.7-litre bottle, this Scotch whisky is modern, powerful and self-confident.

Auchentoshan Blood Oak owes its name to the special maturation in ex-bourbon casks and red wine casks, which give the whisky its striking deep reddish-golden colour as well as additional depth and spice. While the bourbon casks contribute vanilla, coconut and soft wood notes, the red wine casks provide intense fruit accents and spicy tension with hints of red fruit and Ingwerer. This combination of casks makes the Blood Oak Single Malt a deliberately “Distilled Different” interpretation of a travel retail whisky that clearly emphasises colour, structure and expression.

Tasting NoteColour: Deep, reddish shimmering gold, with strong brilliance.

Nose: Vanilla and coconut from bourbon barrels, fresh citrus notes, lively fruit.

Flavour: Rich and inviting, raspberry, plum, vanilla, maraschino cherry, soft and balanced.

Finish: Spicy and warming, redcurrants, oak spice, lingering.

Auchentoshan Blood Oak Single Malt Scotch Whisky is ideal for drinking neat to clearly understand the bourbon and red wine cask maturation. In culinary terms, this Lowland single malt harmonises particularly well with berry desserts, cherry tart, dark chocolate or pastries with red fruits, as these support the fruity depth of the whisky. This travel retail exclusive whisky also impresses with mild hard cheese or as a characterful dram for a relaxed evening with its spicy, fruity and lingering style.
