Description
This single malt is distilled at the Lochranza Swedestillery, which is located in Lagg, in the south of the island.
The oldest available bottling, which is now part of the core range, is a rare rarity, with only 3,000 bottles available worldwide each year.
During its impressive 25 years of maturation, this whisky rests in ex-sherry and bourbon casks. The addition of caramel is deliberately avoided during production so as not to affect the natural flavour of the whisky. Cold filtration is also avoided in order to preserve the natural flavours and nuances of the whisky unadulterated.
With this bottling, sister distillery Lochranza honours the long tradition and heritage of whisky by emphasising the natural quality and flavour of this malt.
Tasting NoteColour: Radiant amber.
Nose: Nutmeg notes, ripe figs, sultanas, black cherries.
Flavour: Fruit cake, roasted almonds, cinnamon, citrus fruits.
Finish: Langs on the palate.
