Description

The Ardnahoe Infinite Loch Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a tribute to the magic of nature and the profundity of the Islay tradition. Inspired by the loch of the same name, which lies not far from the distillery, this bottling is symbolic of depth, tranquillity and a seemingly boundless expanse – characteristics that are also reflected in the flavour profile of this characterful single malt. Founded in 2018, Ardnahoe Distillery is the youngest member of the Islay distilleries and combines traditional production methods with a modern understanding of quality – including the rare use of worm tubs, which give the distillate a particularly creamy texture.

The Infinite Loch bottling was composed from a carefully selected combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at a strong 50% by volume, unchill filtered and natural. The result is a smoky Islay single malt with subtle sweet, fruity and spicy flavours that impresses both on its own and in a sophisticated tasting session. The stylish gift box emphasises the exclusive character of this edition and makes it an attractive highlight for collectors and lovers of young Islay distillates.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold with copper reflections.

Nose: Complex and deep, with notes of damp peat smoke, green apple, citrus zest, sea salt and roasted malt. There is also a hint of dried fruit and caramel from the sherry cask.

Taste: Powerful yet balanced, with flavours of smoke, pepper, vanilla, candied nuts, malty sweetness and an elegant oak spice.

Finish: Langs and complex, with smoky depth, salty freshness, a hint of liquorice and a fine dryness from the sherry finish.

The Ardnahoe Infinite Loch is ideal for pure enjoyment – preferably in a bulbous nosing glass at room temperature to fully emphasise its complex structure. In culinary terms, this whisky harmonises perfectly with grilled lamb, smoked eel, mature cheddar or savoury shortbread with herbal salt. Sweet pairings such as orange zest in dark chocolate, dried figs or pecan pie emphasise its aromatic complexity.
