The Ardnahoe CÀRAID ÌLEACH 100% Oloroso Quarter Cask is a real world first and marks a milestone in the still young history of the Islay distillery Ardnahoe. For the first time, an Ardnahoe single malt has been matured completely and exclusively in 100% Oloroso Quarter Casks. This special full cask maturation in small sherry casks intensifies the wood contact and gives the whisky exceptional depth, complexity and expressiveness. The edition is strictly limited to 2,510 bottles as a German Exclusive and is clearly aimed at lovers of powerful Islay whiskies with a pronounced sherry profile.
The distinctive Islay peat with a maritime smokiness is also characteristic of Ardnahoe and harmonises perfectly with the spicy, sweet and fruity aromas of the Oloroso sherry casks. This limited edition was bottled at Ardnahoe’s preferred alcohol content of 50.0%, without chill filtration and without the addition of colouring. The combination of intensive cask maturation, peat, smoke and sherry spice makes this whisky a new reference point for modern Islay bottlings and a real collector’s item.
