Amatiteña, inspired by the long tradition of agave cultivation in Amatitán since the 18th century, is produced by engineer Alberto Partida Hermosillo, a third generation master tequilero of the Partida family. The brand honours the ancestral customs of Jalisco and the agave fields by maintaining traditional methods of production.
Traditionally, the agave hearts for Amatiteña Tequila Añejo are crushed with a tahona and then slow-cooked over an open fire to best preserve the sweet flavours. Fermented with wild yeasts and distilled in copper stills, the tequila develops a harmonious and complex flavour after 12 months of maturation that delights connoisseurs and novices alike.
