The cuvée consists predominantly of Shiraz (Syrah), supplemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, which gives the wine its rich colour, spicy aroma and intense fruitiness. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards in south-east Australia, where the warm days and cool nights ensure optimum ripening conditions. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels to develop structure, complexity and subtle flavour. With an alcohol content of 13.5% vol., the 19 Crimes Behind Bars presents itself as a perfectly balanced composition of power, fruit and soft tannin structure.
