This barrel-aged potato vodka comes from the Windspiel distillery, and is the first potato vodka matured in barrels to be made in its home country of Germany. It is thoroughly mild, with delicate potato flavours, and is sure to be a hit with vodka lovers everywhere.
After the Pirol variety potatoes are harvested in Weilerhof, they are made into raw alcohol in a process overseen by master distiller Holger Borchers. To aid in development of the triple-distillation process, a team of specialists was assembled, including vodka distilling expert Dr Franz Eckert. Together, the team managed to bring out the flavours of the potatoes perfectly. For the icing on the spirits cake, the vodka is aged for several months in ash barrels. This gives it a very special flavour which makes drinking this vodka a totally unique experience.
Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka is a vodka for the year 2016, based on potatoes that have been grown in the previous year. Therefore, it is a special edition and is only available in limited quantities.
