Compared to moderately peated Islay whiskies, the profile is significantly stronger. Smoke is clearly in the foreground and leaves little room for sweetness. Compared to more medicinal bottlings, the peat is more earthy than sharp. The structure remains straightforward and uncompromising, with a focus on smoke and spice rather than complexity.

Nose: Intense peat smoke, ash and maritime hints. Behind this, light spice.
Palate: Strong and dry, with a dominant smoke and peat structure. Spicy and mineral notes accompany the finish.
Finish: Long-lasting and smoky. Peat remains present, with a dry spiciness in the aftertaste.
Serving recommendation
The full intensity of the smoke is revealed when served neat. With a few drops of water, the profile opens up slightly and allows more spice to come through. Only suitable for drinks to a limited extent, as the smoke clearly takes the lead.
