Bowmore 15 years spends its first years in Bourbon barrels to mature. The 15 year old whisky then contains a 3 year old finish in Oloroso sherry barrels.
Nosing
The fragrance of Bowmore 15 years is round and mild. The peaty character of the whisky is slightly less apparent than that of the 12-year-old Bowmore, for example. The aroma of dark wood in combination with chocolate and raisins predominates. There are some peaks where lemon, sea air (salty) and oak wood are captured.
Taste
Bowmore 15 years has an unmistakable taste of gorgeous cedar wood. This is accompanied by strong caramel syrup that provides a harmonious sweetness. The aroma is tipped with soft tones of dark chocolate. Sun-dried fruits also come through again and again. A touch of the unmistakable Islay smoke rounds off the tasting.
All in all Bowmore 15 years is a sweetish malt, which nevertheless comes along manifold and complex. The power of the whisky is not cancelled out by the sweetness, but rather strengthened.

In the finish Bowmore is 15 years strong and complex. The long-lasting finish shows slight sherry nuances resulting from three years storage in Oloroso sherry barrels.
In addition, the whisky is slightly creamy, which makes it especially pleasant on the palate.
