The Cardhu distillery has existed since 1824 and is located in the Speyside region near Archiestown. It was founded by whisky smuggler John Cumming and his wife Helen. Especially Helen and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth contributed significantly to the high quality of the products – an absolute novelty, as whisky was already then (as today) an absolute male affair.
Aroma
This wonderful Single Malt Scotch smells seductively of baking spices like vanilla, cinnamon and cloves as well as baked apple.
Taste
The warm aromas from the nose continue onto the palate. The nose is again dominated by red apples, cloves and nuts. The finish is very light with a hint of caramel. Here you buy a whisky, which you should absolutely enjoy pure.
