After distillation, the whisky made from malted and peated barley is stored in oak barrels for several years. It is then bottled without colorants and not chill-filtered, resulting in the high alcohol content of more than 50% vol. and its golden glow.
Aroma
Side by side, strong peat, smoke, barbecue fire and ash aromas blend into the strong character of Peat’s Beast Cask Strength Whisky. Soft background aromas of vanilla or cinnamon form an interesting nuance, which is complemented by a slightly salty note, comparable to a cool sea breeze on the beach. Less pronounced in the background are subtle aromas of wonderfully creamy caramel and honey.
Taste
Intense peat smoke sets the tone on the palate, whereby the full body with 52% alcohol also deserves respect. Elegant notes of banana cake, mocha, pineapple and viscous syrup add to the smoky main note.
Finish
The smoke lingers on in the finish, although the aftertaste is spiritedly complemented by peat, ginger and caraway.
