Glenfarclas 10 YO The historic Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay. More than 180 years of experience are reflected in each of their wonderful Scotch whiskies. The core range includes bottlings with different ages. These include Glenfarclas 10 YO Single Malt Whisky. Selection of barrels Nosing Tasting Finish Selection of barrels Both First Fill Oloroso and Refill Sherry casks are used to create the taste, colour and aroma palette for Glenfarclas 10 YO Whisky. The Scotch Single Malt spends 60% of its maturing time in Oloroso barrels. The other 40% of its maturing time is spent in selected sherry casks Nosing The maturation of the whisky in sherry casks is shown in its aroma. Expressive notes of malt and an unmistakeable peat smoke present themselves while nosing. If the aroma is examined more closely, the 10-year-old Glenfarclas is also spicy. Tasting The Scotch is voluminous and provides harmonious impressions. The palate feels a sweetish malt note during tasting after a particularly soft appearance on the tongue. The taste is adorned with hints of dried fruits, vanilla and citrus. Finish The farewell on the tongue takes a long time. Gently, a distinctive spice reveals itself on the tongue.
