Boxing Hares is the second offering from the Whiskey Union. This new experimental collective of whisky manufacturers likes to break from conventions to create new taste experiences. Boxing Hares is their first successful attempt to mix beer with whisky. Master distiller Pete Brewin from Whiskey Union loves to enjoy a good Scotch, but mourned the fact that at outdoor events and barbeques there was always a preference for drinking just beer. His solution to the problem was to unite a traditional Scotch whisky with hops into a innovative drink called Boxing Hares!
This brand new creation includes Hallertau and Cascade hops which together develop aromas of lime and tropical fruits, which beautifully complement the sweet honey aroma of Scotch. The result is a harmonious drink which carries flavours of pineapple, hops, caramel, and cherry, and has a slightly bitter finish.
